it's my dear dad's birthday today. I won't say how old he is but i will say, he looks fantastic for a man just shy of 60!
And life is good - He has a hot wife who allows him the occasional hot dog, a son with a medical degree who fixes his internet for free, a charming daughter who edits his drafts enthusiastically and offers unsolicited advice and he has two brilliant children in law too - one with fiery red hair, a harvard degree, who reminds his son that it's his dad's birthday and the newest one, with olive oil running through his blood and who just like him, enjoys long walks in the woods with Libby and a good donut. or any donut.
He's also a big macha as we like to say and has done a good job pissing off feminists though he is one himself.
He's also never needed to wear deodorant which is just plain freakish.
He, like his father, is a man unafraid to love and show love.
I'm a lucky, lucky girl to be his daughter.
