Yesterday, I was walking down the street and saw a spectacular site, two huge great pyranees dogs - not something you see everyday in Manhattan. The scene went something like this:
me: AH!!!!!!!!
man on the other end of two leashes: yeah, they're big, huh?
me: do they have their own apartment?
man: well, they have their own room in an apartment that's bigger than my entire apartment.
oh, so he's the dogwalker, not the crazy new yorker who thought it was a good idea or a humane thing to own two huge dogs in this city.
me: are they nice? what are their names? I could ride them! oh my gosh! How much do they weigh? There's TWO of them!
dogwalker: wow, ok. They're very, very nice. You can pet them but maybe don't ride them here. He weighs 160 lbs, she weighs a little less. They're brother and sister.
me: ooooo, i lurv them. Their names, what are their names? She looks like Libby! Her face looks like Libby's!
patient dogwalker: This is Johan and that's Basti, short for Sebastian.
patient dogwalker: This is Johan and that's Basti, short for Sebastian.
me: JOHAN SEBASTIAN! That's fabulous. They're fabulous. I want one, I want six. In a stable. On a farm.
dogwalker: well, okay then!
me: thanks for sharing. have a good night. thanks again, yay. eeee.
