The Bodega

The bodega around the corner from our apartment amazes me. Maybe that's what keeps me in New York.
Every time I go into this tiny, tiny store, I'm simply fascinated by the volume and variety of items that they have. They have everything.
They don't just have mustard. They have six different kinds of mustard - everything from the most basic to the fancy french stuff.
While we were in Japan, I bought a bunch of japanese candy. I stocked up on the, buying some for myself and some as souvenirs for friends. When I was paying for my cauliflower, yogurt and deodorant at the bodega the other night, I noticed they sell this candy, in four different flavors, at the counter.
I've lived in NYC for almost 3 years now and I still can't believe that such small stores can have SO much stuff. It's just so convenient.
