Dear friends,
Yesterday was my last day at what will now be known as the blip on my resume. When referring to this period of my life, I ask that you speak of it as the 3.5 months that I spent backpacking through Europe, planting a vegetable garden, or visiting a long lost relative.
However, I ask that you refrain from asking about the blip on my resume unless you are looking for a quick laugh about my former bosses: a senile octogenarian Alabamian and a fifty year old, red face man who is a self admitted "lover of all things sparkly."
Next week I will start my new job. No, I won't be saving the world; I will however be largely responsible for drawing attention to those who are, indeed, saving the world. No need to praise me for my do- gooder work, as I am not the one finding a cure to a terrible disease. Rather, I'm the one making sure these people get credit and that their saving of the world is better funded. Okay, I am kind of a big deal.
It is the beginning of a new chapter and the end of a blip.
With much love and the great sense of freedom,
Your blogger
