as per usually, i woke up with a cold yesterday and am fighting it off again today with lots of tea and water. M. seems to have it too. despite our stuffed noses and sore throats we were still able to proceed with our new year's day plans. mainly because our plan was to sit on the couch for an extended period of time. we watched "It's a Wonderful Life," which M. gave me for Christmas. I had never seen it and i must say, it's a great movie. That Donna Reed sure is something - so beautiful! I know that it's played every christmas and that christmas is an underlying theme throughout the movie but i'm still surprised it's not more popular with the Jews.
As i said, i'm at work today and it really is a shame. There is a handful of people in the office and no one seems to have much work to do. hi blog. i don't mind being here so much, it's just the lack of other humans and projects that makes it seem so ridiculous.
On to the good stuff. last night i had a dream that i two golden retriever puppies, yes, TWO. I was "borrowing" them from a breeder to see if i would be able to handle caring for them with the goal in mind of making them show dogs. ha! I vividly remember holding one of the puppies while telling the other one to sit and stay, backing away slowly, while repeating "stay, stay, stay" very calmly until finally i said, "good boy!" and the little doggie ran playfully towards me. then i switched off, scooping up the other puppy and teaching the other one to stay. it was glorious. and so real! The dream may have something to do with the fact that yesterday i saw a picture of the dog i must have. It's like if libby ate too many hotdogs, she would look like this:
