On saturday night, M. and i babysat for sweet six month old Ottavia, our friend's baby. she is the most-cutest little thing and we adore her - but i'm not sure she feels the same way about us. for our first 20 minutes together, we had a dandy time, singing italian children's songs, cooing at each other and lifting her over our heads, much to her delight. then she crashed, hard and cried for the remaining 2 hours. poor thing. M. was so good with her and carried her back and forth, back and forth, from one end of the apartment to the other, singing every song imaginable until she finally fell asleep, 15 minutes before her parents came to pick her up. Once they arrived they asked if little Ottavia was a good form of birth control? um, yes. But we still love her!
