Today is THAT day

Today is the first day that it feels like spring. I just went out to get lunch and it seems everyone is outside and they're even smiling.
Of course, as soon as you comment on the beautiful weather, someone is there to remind you that tomorrow the temperature is going to drop and we'll all go back to being mean new yorkers. Thanks for that but I'm gonna take what I can get.
Every year there is a day like this - when people default to happy and leave their jackets in the office when they run out to get lunch. It's the day that you sit at your desk and your rationale for leaving early and hating a 9-6 job is the weather. It's the day when girls wear their spring dresses and curse themselves because it's still not quite warm enough for that while men everywhere rejoice. It's the day when you make an exception and let yourself get an ice coffee from starbucks in the afternoon (ok, I do this a lot). It's the day when you bond with your co-workers about being caged animals and complain about wanting to escape and asking: shouldn't they let us leave early?
Today, everyone has spring fever.
