Do they get A&E in Malibu?
I ask this because I believe that if someone, who has any sort of contact with Britney Spears saw the show Intervention, the poptart would be tucked away in rehab somewhere.
I happen to love that show. I mean, I love it in the same way I love flossing -- it hurts but I make myself do it anyway. I actually don't know anyone else who watches it, most people find it too depressing to watch and the thing is, I do too but I can't tear myself away. I sit through the whole thing, bawling my eyes out, hoping along with the addict's friends and family that treatment will be successful for the alcoholic, drug addict, anorexic, gambler, etc.
In the last 5 minutes of the show, you see the interventionee in rehab, doing well, clear-headed and ready to start anew. Then, literally, in the last minute, a typed follow up on how the addict is doing appears on the screen -- two sentences indicating that treatment was not successful, that so and so has relapsed multiple times but has been sober since January 1st. You are watching on January 3rd. It's kinda the most depressing thing ever. And yet, I still watch and each time I truly believe that the person will get better and I honestly care that they do.
Britney, if you're out there (and we know you're OUT THERE), have yourself a little intervention. I'm not saying rehab will work but it is sure to make for riveting television.
