I have been a bad blogger. I apologize. I'm in the process of reexamining the purpose of this blog. It's all very deep.
I'm trying to figure out if this space should be my forum for humorous jaunts, random pictures of other people's dogs and other censored material OR a more "uncut" look into my life. That has nothing to do with my fiance being a gentile. On this first day of the new year, I ponder the meaning of this blog and look to its future -- still undecided but not halted.
Nothing says old married couple like celebrating New Year's eve with your parents in suburbia. That's right, last night we all cozied together to ring in 2008 in style. Mom made her famous home made pizza, pizza stone and all. The parents even bought pepperoni to appease M. and the doggie was fortunate to kick off the new year with some leftover pizza crust. We piled on the couch to watch a movie and then at 10:30pm, just moments before my mom succumbed to sleep, we toasted the new year with some prosecco, left over from my mom's 60th birthday party. Beat that.

We also enjoyed a delicious treat made by yours truly (c/o Kraft foods, don't sue!). It's called Cookie Bark and it's quick, easy and highly tasty. The recipe is below and I highly recommend it.
With that the holidays come to a close, which is always bittersweet. I suppose I'm glad to end all the hooplah and craziness but I do like the overall feeling that comes with this time of year. This portion of the year tends to feel like an endless abyss of cold and slush and the departure of gingerbread lattes but I'm optimistic and I'm looking forward to 2008. Stick with this blog, kid, and it'll show you the world. Or at least mine.
Happy 2008 y'all!
