An Apology

My last blog got me thinking about pirates.
I said i curse like a pirate when in fact, I believe the correct statement would be, i curse "like a sailor." Sailors get so much praise for their other characteristics: their adorable little hats, their starchy white uniforms, their ability to convince young women in the 1950's that they were shipping out the next morning, etc. They can afford the reputation of poor speaking habits. But pirates? what do they have going for them? It was rude of me to assume that pirates use foul language. I hope no pirates were hurt in the making of this blog.
Pirates are scary, for sure, but one shant assume that they use swear words frequently.

most of them do, in fact, curse like sailors but they tend to use obscure and oft times misunderstood curses like "scurvy bilge covered son of a mother copulating whale".

cute blog.

If this is a cheap crack about my childhood with an eye-patch, I am not amused.
